Head of the West Sumatra (West Sumatra) Environment Agency (DLH), Siti Aisyah, said that she had taken samples from a mound of white foam that had emerged from the ground in Jorong Bukit Gombak, Nagari Padang Laweh, Koto VII District, Sijunjung Regency.
According to her, the sample examination will take place in the next few days.
“The sample has been taken by the DLH Sijunjung team, and we will check it in the laboratory.
It is possible that the quickest results will come out in one week, ”said Siti when contacted by Padangkita.com, Friday (11 September 2029).
Photos and videos of this natural phenomenon about white foam have been widely uploaded on social media and are widely discussed.
Based on the information he received, the foam was pure white and odorless.
Currently, based on the temporary information on the foam, there is no indication of gas content, but ordinary liquid.
“After the initial examination, the phase is not the gas phase, but the liquid phase,” she said.
A phase is a number of substances that are homogeneous both chemically and physically, or it can also be said that a homogeneous system is a phase.
In general, there are three groups of phases, namely the gas phase, the liquid phase, and the solid phase.
Thus, said Siti, if the phase is liquid, the examination must go through a laboratory check.
So that you can find what content is in the foam.
She also explained that the white foam appeared because of a reaction.
However, she could not confirm which compound caused the foam.
“The last information I heard was that the foam came from a gum tree. But I don’t know what tree sap can cause that much foam, the reaction is how I can’t explain, “she explained.
