Tragic, after meeting with a cardinal who later tested positive, now, Pope Francis is being constantly monitored for signs of the coronavirus.
As cited from Aljazeera, a top Vatican official said that the 83-year old meet with Philippine Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle, 63, on August 29, 2020.
They had a private audience with Francis. But when Antonio return to Manila on September 10, 2020, he had tested positive for COVID-19.
Secretary of State Pietro Parolin told ANSA news agency, “Now, we are being prudent. There is no particular alarm in the Vatican, but Pope Francis is being constantly monitored.”
Since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic early this year, Pope Francis, whose birth name is Jorge Bergoglio, the head of the world’s 1.2 billion Catholics has shown little fear for his own health.
