A 50 year old man who fell on the roof of the elevator.
The incident took place at the Sri Sabah Flat in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur.
The man was found dead on the roof of the elevator.
Police got calls from the public regarding the discovery of the body of a man on the roof of the elevator, he said.
Before contacting the police, residents complained to the elevator maintenance company regarding the elevator failure.
Residents complained of hearing loud explosions before maintenance company employees found the man’s body on the roof of the elevator.
The police commissioner added that a preliminary investigation found that the elevator in the 17-storey flat was functioning properly prior to the incident.
As per the current investigation, the case will be classified as Sudden Death (SDR).
