After the pandemic, we should live in the lockdown and it becomes a difficult one. Lockdown is causing depression, anxiety and restlessness, after being forced to stay indoors. With the looming fear of job cuts, made it a little too overwhelming in the initial months of the lockdown.
But, researchers from Danube University looked at 1000 Austrians a month after the COVID-19 lockdown came into place.
The researchers assessed the quality of marriage as well as looked for stress, depression, anxiety, wellbeing, sleep quality to better understand their mental health.
As the result, researchers found that individuals with a good relationship scored better than those who had an unhappy relationship. And being single is better than being in an unhappy relationship.
But the researchers found, the individual getting depression symptoms because the relationship quality dropped. Good relationship quality was a protective factor whereas a poor relationship quality was a risk factor.
