As a form of welcoming guests in Malay culture, Inhil Regent, HM Wardan, applauded Tawar Flour against a number of Forkopimda elements in the new Inhil Regency, Monday night, Sept. 14, 2020.
The cultural tradition of Tepuk Tepung Tawar which was held at the Engku Kelana Tembilahan building, Tepuk Tepung Tawar for Dandim 0314 Indragiri Hilir Lt. Col. Inf Imir Faishal, Kapolres Inhil, AKBP Dian Setyawan, Head of the Inhil District Attorney’s Office Rini Triningsih, Chair of the Tembilahan Religious Court, Endang Rosmala Dewi and Chairman of the Tembilahan District Court Nurmala Sinurat.
In his speech, the Regent said that Tepuk Tepung Tawar have very deep meaning, Which is in this Tepuk Tepung Tawar, we use rice water which means to repel a bad luck.
The Regent also explained that this Tepuk Tepung Tawar is a Malay Tradition to welcome or accept the presence of officials or figures.
“If you are already in Tepuk Tepung Tawar, it means that the ladies and gentlemen on duty are already part of the Inhil area,” said the Regent.
By using turmeric rice, the Regent enriched it as a sign to accompany our steps in carrying out our daily tasks, hopefully it will run well, be successful and smoothly without any obstacles.
Dandim 0314 Inhil, who represented ‘ditepung tawari’ by Forkopimda and the LAMR Inhil, said he was happy with the event of Tepuk Tepung Tawar held by LAMR Inhil.
“This indicates that we have been widely accepted by Inhil society,” he said.
