AKBP Dian Setyawan held a press release about the disclosing cases of methamphetamine abuse at the Indragiri Hilir Police Headquarters at the Reconfu Hall on Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2020.
In this case, the Police of Indragiri Hilir succeeded in arrest two suspects, RB (37 years old), a Tembilahan resident, and SB (31 years) a drug recidivist, a resident of Tembilahan Hulu.
The two perpetrators were arrested at a boarding house on Jalan Batang Tuaka, Monday, Sept. 14, 2020.
The arrests began with information from the public that at the location there are frequent narcotics transactions by RB, then this information was conveyed to the Head of Narcotics Agency AKP Bachtiar.
In an official press statement by the Police Chief of Indragiri Hilir, when the police tried to arrest one of the suspects ie RB, he tried to fight back by pulling out a weapon.
Dian also said that two police officers and RB were rushed to Tembilahan Hospital for medical treatment, but RB was declared dead by the medical team.
Meanwhile, RB’s friend, a drug recidivist, SB was also arrested.
“At the location, our police members managed to secure 1 packet of narcotics that wrapped in clear plastic with a gross weight of 97.63 grams, 1 black wallet in the pocket of RB’s pants, a weapon, and 1 unit of cellphone,” he said.
Another team that backed up by the Police Personnel of Indragiri Hilir carried out an investigation into 2 locations of the house where RB lived on Sederhana Street.
“From two locations we found evidence in the form of 18 packages of crystal methamphetamine wrapped in clear plastic with a gross weight of 44.92 grams beside the window,” Dian said.
From SB’s house located in Pelajar street – Tembilahan Hulu, the officer also found a packet of narcotics wrapped in clear plastic with a gross weight of 2.33 grams in the room and 1 weapon.
