Again, a building has collapsed in India. The incident occurred in the early morning hours and killing at least 10 people while they slept inside three-floor buildings on the outskirts of Mumbai.
According to local reports as cited by News24xx.com, at least 20 to 25 people are reportedly trapped in the building in Bhiwandi – about 40km (25 miles) from Mumbai.
The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) said on Monday, that rescuers that consist of more than 40 emergency workers, including a team of 30 rescuers from the NDRF, were working to find and free them. The emergency workers combing through concrete and brick rubble with electrical wires hanging over their heads.
An official told AFP news agency that at least two people have been rescued alive.
The accident occurred in the city of Bhiwandi around 3:40 am local time (22:10 GMT on Sunday).
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his condolences on Twitter.
From the investigation known that the building had been on a list of dangerous buildings and a notice for it to be vacated had been issued.
