Due to the lack of funding for humanity, makes the critical aid from the United Nations was cut for 300 health centres in Yemen.
Yemen, a country with war-ravaged, left in poor condition by six years. During the war makes tens of thousands of people have been killed.
The United Nations said on Wednesday, the food distribution also reduced, and more than one-third of the UN’s important humanitarian programmes in Yemen was reduced or shut down entirely,
Since April 2020, Lise Grande, the UN’s humanitarian coordinator for Yemen warning of further drastic cuts will coming weeks, unless additional funding is received.
“Only $1bn of the $3.2bn necessary had been received. And tt’s an impossible situation and becomes the worst humanitarian crisis in the world.”
Grande also says that at least 24 million people need aid and protection, and nearly every humanitarian worker of the UN’S had to tell a hungry family.
“More than three-quarters of Yemen’s population need helps. And the consequences of under-funding are immediate and devastating. Every day we get a report about someone who is ill, but we can’t help them because we don’t have funding.”
As cited by News24xx.com from India Times, Yemen’s recognized government has been battling the Iran-aligned Houthi rebels since 2014, when they seized much of the north. But, in the following year, a Saudi-led military coalition intervened.
