A 39-year-old man in Nagoya has been arrested after suspicion of theft.
He walked off with a shoulder bag belonging to a 21-year-old man that contained approximately 1 million yen in cash at a convenience store on Monday, Sept. 21, 2020, at around 5:50 p.m. in Naka Ward.
As cited News24xx.com from Sankei Shimbun, police said the suspect, Shingo Ito is a junior high school teacher.
He took the bag from the store’s eat-in space when the owner went to the toilet.
And when the man returned, he noticed that his bag gone and he saw Ito with it a short distance away.
He then asked a convenience store employee to call 110. Thankfully, police arrested Ito who was still in the area. When arrested, Ito said that he had found the bag lying outside the store and decided to bring it.
