A 46-year-old man arrested after killed the 26-year-old Shinya Kogawa. The man named Kamiya has admitted to dismembering the victim’s body whose body parts were found in a mountainous area in western Tokyo in 2003.
Kamiya gave up his life on the run in South Africa last month due to the coronavirus pandemic. And he was indicted the same day on a charge.
Kamiya turned himself in on Aug 21, 2020, at the Japanese Embassy in South Africa, and saying that he had lost his job and had no money due to the pandemic and wished to return home.
After tested negative for the coronavirus, he was arrested Sept 3 at Narita airport.
Kamiya arrested in a conspiracy to choked the victim to death with a belt in September 2003 in a parking lot in Yamanashi Prefecture, dismembered his body, and dumped the parts there and in the western Tokyo area.
