In a tragic incident, a newborn baby died after her mother allegedly forgot about her and left her in a roasting hot car in Panama City, Florida, on September 2, 2020.
The poor baby named McKinley Garner lost her life when her mother named Megan Dauphin, 30, got high and forgot about her. It is unclear what the mom was doing while McKinley lay dying in the hot car.
McKinley was born on July 4, 2020. At that time, the infant was left in the roasting car for several hours. Then, responders were called out to her mom’s home but she pronounced dead shortly after the emergency team comes.
Dauphin was arrested and charged with aggravated manslaughter over McKinley’s death.
For the incident, the detectives from Bay County Sheriff’s Office began investigating Dauphin, and have found drug paraphernalia in her home consistent with crystal meth use.
Dauphin was made to take a blood test, which is said to have established that she was high on meth on the day of her baby’s death.
Dauphin was booked into Bay County Jail on Wednesday.
