A man drowned at East Coast Park yesterday, Oct 11, 2020, after decided to makes a family picnic.
At that time, he had invited his youngest brother and his family to a picnic at the park that day.
Then, when the family set up a table with their food, the man suddenly disappeared. The tragedy occurred less than a month after celebrating his 53rd birthday.
After the man had not resurfaced from the water after 15 minutes, his families called the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) for assistance at about 2.15 pm.
Firefighters also were deployed to conduct a visual search from the shore, while divers from the elite Disaster Assistance and Rescue Team conducted an underwater search.
The man’s body was found at about 7.15 pm that day, after the man’s body was found floating.
A paramedic pronounced that the man dead on the scene.
