After filming a vehicle stunt for a drama, a top cameraman of BBC was killed after a Land Rover veered off course and struck the cameraman named Mark Milsome as he filmed on location in Ghana, West Africa.
In the scene, the vehicle was meant to mount a ramp before toppling over on its side and the crew members shocked after watched the vehicle ploughed into the 51-year-old.
The father-of-one died in the scene.
The inquest was told that the Land Rover had no working speedomete and no safety briefing for the crew on site.
And the inquest also told that having a camera near the stunt also went against a risk assessment.
Dean Byfield, an assistant director was on set at the time and told the incident was “shocking and unexpected” when the car careered away from its route towards Mr Milsome, because the manoeuvre was not what was planned in rehearsals of the stunt.
He said: “It shot in completely the wrong direction.”
