A heart attack is an emergency that requires immediate medical attention.
Unfortunately, some are too late to get or be given assistance to claim the patient’s life.
In fact, the sooner a heart attacker receives medical assistance in the emergency room, the better his chances of survival.
Proper medical care can reduce the rate of heart damage caused by an attack.
There are several signs of a heart attack, among others;
- Discomfort or pain in the chest.
- Pain not only in the chest but can also spread to the jaw, shoulder, arm, back, or stomach.
- Sweating
- Headache

- Loss of taste, pain, or tingling in the arm
- Difficulty breathing
- Feeling weak or tired
These symptoms usually appear for or more than 15 minutes. However, it usually doesn’t happen without signs.
Many patients have a heart attack with warning signs hours, days, or weeks in advance.
Here is several emergency help when someone has a heart attack:
- Don’t ignore the symptoms of a heart attack.
Contact the nearest hospital immediately for medical assistance. If possible, ask the help of the closest person to immediately bring the patient to the hospital. - Help the patient to sit, relax, and try to remain calm and comfortable.
- Loosen any tight clothing to make it easier for the patient to breathe.
- Ask if the patient is taking heart medication to treat chest pain. If so, help them take medicine.
- If the pain does not go away three minutes after taking the medicine, immediately take the patient to the hospital.
- If the patient is unconscious, contact the nearest hospital while providing the correct CPR (chest breathing and rescue technique) assistance.
- If you have not been able to provide CPR assistance while waiting for medical assistance, you can ask for instructions from a medical operator.
