The Regent of Indragiri Hilir (Inhil), HM Wardan made a working visit (Kunker) to Kuala Selat Village, Kateman District, Wednesday (4/11/2020) in order to observe the location of the abrasion that occurred in the Belanak River, Kuala Selat Village.
It should be noted that the abrasion that occurred was caused by the impact of the waves so that if it is not done quickly handling it can cause the sinking of agricultural land and coconut plantations with an area of approximately 1920 hectares.
To date, the steps taken by the Kuala Selat Village Government and the community have carried out the planting of api-api trees and building embankments independently to reduce the possibility of further abrasion.
The Regent appreciates the Sungai Selat Village Government for the efforts made to reduce the occurrence of abrasion.
“Considering that Kuala Selat has a very high level of abrasion and today if we hope that the APBD is very minimal. For this reason, we need support from the community as well as currently we are being hit by the COVID-19 pandemic. continue to strive so that this abrasion can be overcome by looking for other sources apart from the APBD, “said HM Wardan.
