The West Papua Police deployed 2,738 personnel to guard the security situation during the celebration of the Papuan liberation movement on December 1 today.
“Currently, there is 2,738 personnel from the Papua Regional Police to maintain the security and security situation, scattered throughout the jurisdiction of the West Papua Regional Police,” said West Papua Police Head of Public Relations, AKBP Adam Erwindi through an official statement, Tuesday, December 1, 2020.
Police said that December 1 often became a momentum for a number of organizations to celebrate. Adam emphasized that the police will disband if there are actions that are not in accordance with the regulations. Although, Adam did not specify what kind of action would be disbanded.
He asked people that living in the Papua region not to be easily swallowed up by provocations by irresponsible parties.
