The European League group stage ended on Friday (11/12/2020) in the morning, local time.
A total of 24 teams have selected to proceed to the knockout phase. Meanwhile, eight other groups have also “stepped down” from the Champions League.
The eight teams include RB Salzburg, Shakhtar Donetsk, Olympiakos, Ajax Amsterdam, and Krasnodar.
The other three are Dynamo Kiev, Club Brugge, and Manchester United. They are the clubs that occupy third place in their respective group standings on the Champions League stage.
Meanwhile, the 24 teams that progressed to the knockout phase were champions and runners-up in the Europa League group stage.
Of the 24 clubs, only Arsenal have progressed with perfect points, which is 18 points, or have always won in six games. Apart from Arsenal, five other teams have never tasted defeat when in action in the preliminary round.
They are Hoffenheim, Dinamo Zagreb, Villarreal, Rangers, and Benfica. However, the five clubs have felt a draw.
Then, the club with the highest productivity in the group phase is owned by Bayer Leverkusen, with 21 goals.
Arsenal followed as the second most productive team with 20 goals. The third position occupied by Benfica (18 goals).
