The Covid-19 pandemic has had a devastating effect on people who work in the aviation industry since early March 2020.
This is because many overseas flights have been stopped and eventually the pilots and cabin crew lose their jobs.
Lately, many pilots have switched professions selling food.
No exception, the former flight attendants from various airlines in several countries. Many of them have lost their jobs and changed professions selling food or drinks.
One of them is Em Enrique, a former flight attendant for the Philippine Airlines airline. She had worked for 5 years for the airline before the Covid-19 pandemic ended her career as a flight attendant.
Reporting from the Philippine Business News (1/8), this beautiful ex-flight attendant is known to sell avocados online. She sold it through her personal Facebook account.
Em Enrique uploaded a photo showing herself packing the avocados. She conveyed through her upload that she sold 80 kg of avocado in just 2 days.
“From 100 kg to 20 kg, thank you!” she wrote in his Facebook upload. She refers to the amount of avocado stock she has.
Even though was stopped from her job, Em Enrique did not give up. She was looking for ways to get out of her troubles at that time. Therefore she sells fruit and vegetables online, one of which is avocado.
“I’m taking this opportunity to rest (from the world of aviation). I have to do something to maintain my mental health. I have to keep myself busy,” she said
Em sold this avocado online with the help of her mother. She also delivered the avocados to the buyer.
Em admitted that she was grateful even though her income in selling avocados was not as big as what he got while working as a flight attendant. Currently, all she thinks about is how to provide for her family’s daily needs.
This beautiful woman also encouraged people who lost their jobs due to the Covid-19 pandemic. She hopes that they don’t give up and keep trying.
“We can develop our potential, we can push ourselves. So, take the opportunity to develop yourself,” Em Enrique ordered.
Previously, the former senior flight attendant from Malaysia named Nur Shareen Mohd Zaini also lost her job. She changed her profession to sell steamed rice on the roadside of Senawang, Malaysia.
The steamed rice that she sells is combined with a side dish of spiced chicken. One portion is served with chili sauce and pickles.
