The President-elect of the United States (US), Joe Biden, will receive an injection of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccine at the earliest next week. Biden will be injected with the Corona vaccine in public to convincing the public about the vaccine.
As reported by Reuters on Thursday (17/12/2020), 78-year-old Biden is in the high-risk category of contracting the Coronavirus. It is known that the US authorities prioritize frontline medical personnel and elderly citizens (seniors) who are undergoing treatment in the Corona vaccination program.
“I don’t want to go ahead but I want to make sure that we show the American people that it is safe to receive it (the Corona-ed vaccine),” Biden said in his statement.
The exact time for the Corona vaccine against Biden has not been clearly disclosed. However, several officials who are reluctant to be identified as the US presidency revealed that Biden will be injected with the Corona vaccine next week.
Biden previously promised the Coronavirus a priority when he officially took office as US President on January 20, 2021. President Donald Trump, who lost to Biden, has always underestimated the threat of the Coronavirus, which has claimed more than 300 thousand lives in various parts of the US.
Separately, the White House said that the US Vice President, Mike Pence, and his wife, Karen, will receive a Corona vaccine injection on Friday (18/12) local time.
Both Biden and Pence will be injected with the Corona vaccine to make the public’s trust and confidence in this vaccine. US authorities will provide the Corona vaccine widely for all its citizens starting next year.
Trump himself, according to the White House Press Secretary, Kayleigh McEnany, will receive the Corona vaccine injection as soon as his medical team determines the best time. Trump is known to have been hospitalized after testing positive for the Coronavirus last fall.
The initial doses of the coronavirus vaccine, available in the US starting this week, are prioritized for doctors, nurses, and other frontlines medical personnel, nursing home residents and staff also some US high government officials.
US authorities are targeting to receive 2.9 million doses of the Corona vaccine made by Pfizer-BioNTech by the end of this week.
