In SPOTV NEWS‘s latest exclusive coverage of BTOB member Jung Ilhoon‘s habitual use of marijuana, it was revealed that he spent around ₩100,000,000 KRW (approximately $90,517 USD) in cash to purchase the substance.
According to the coverage, a police investigation confirmed that over the course of the past 4-5 years, Jung Ilhoon has sent his cash to a middleman “A” who then exchanged the cash into cryptocurrency, bought, and distributed the marijuana back to Jung Ilhoon.
Jung Ilhoon is also reported to have shared the marijuana with his friends at his home and in his vehicle since as far back as 2016.
The investigation also ran a drug test on Jung Ilhoon, using his hair sample — which then came out positive for marijuana use.
Following the news, BTOB’s agency Cube Entertainment has released an official apology for “making a lot of fans worry“.
BTOB fans and netizens alike are utterly shocked by the sheer amount of money. A 2018 report shares that in Korea, a gram of marijuana is illegally sold at a starting price of ₩37,000 KRW ($34 USD).
