The Indragiri Hilir (Inhil) Health Service (Diskes) plans to administer vaccine injections to 3,679 Inhil residents on January 14, 2021.
However, this figure does not include the Regent and Deputy Regent of Inhil, because both have reached the mandatory age limit for vaccines.
“Indeed, in the early stages of the vaccine, it will be focused on the age of 18-59 years, that is the standard throughout the world, so the ranks of district governments such as the Regent, Deputy Head of District and Secretary of Inhil cannot participate in the mass vaccine,” said Kadiskes Inhil, Afrizal.
Kadiskes said that basically all vaccines have the same type. It’s just that, there are special treatments that must be distinguished such as the administration of the dose.
“For vaccines for children and for the elderly, plus those with congenital diseases, it will depend on the results of clinical trials. The point is the vaccines are the same, but maybe we have to pay attention to what the dosage is, whether there is special treatment for this category,” he said.
He said, in essence, everyone will get a vaccine, but the term the initial stage when it is still in clinical trials is for the early stages 18-59 years.
