Regarding the street vendors (PKL) who are on the shoulder of the road, the Civil Service Police Unit of Indragiri Hilir (Inhil) will continue to control street vendors as long as the street vendors continue to grow on the shoulder of the road.
The statement was conveyed directly by the Head of the Civil Service Police Unit of Indragiri Hilir Marta Haryadi in his office.
Basically, Martha said, the Civil Service Police Unit of Indragiri Hilir did not simply evict the street vendors. But the Civil Service Police Unit of Indragiri Hilir tries to give warnings and appeals to the street vendors first.
“What is clear is that it is not permissible to eat the road, it is actually not permissible above the gutter. But the first step we are taking is not eviction but control,” he said.
Not only that, he said, the Civil Service Police Unit of Indragiri Hilir gave the opportunity to PKL to clean up their wares first.
“We still understand that if it is a cart trader, he can move places” he added.
