Commemorating the 74th anniversary of the Islamic Student Association (HMI) of Indragiri Hilir (Inhil), it held a gathering with HMI alumni on Sunday, February 7, 2021.
In this activity, the discussions between cadres with several presenters such as Abdul Rasyid, Andang Yudiantoro, Asmuri, and Zulhelmi with the theme Strengthening Islamic Commitment and Nationality.
The Chairperson of the Law Commission, Muhammad Yusuf, said that HMI was the oldest organization that was founded on February 5, 1947, on the 14th of Rabiul Awal 1366 H, by Lafran Pane.
“The noble goal of the birth of the HMI Organization was to defend the Republic of Indonesia and enhance the status of the Indonesian people, uphold and spread the religion of Islam, which at that time was fighting against Dutch aggression,” he explained.
He also said that HMI was born in an atmosphere of the independence revolution. The addition of HMI was also established to exalt the people and uphold and develop Islamic teachings.
“HMI’s progress in Indonesia is undoubted. For that I invite all commissariats within the Tembilahan branch of HMI to always uphold the initial goal of establishing HMI, namely, to defend the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI),” he asked.
All cadres, said Yusuf, must unite and work together to fight for these ideals.
“At an increasing age, I hope HMI will continue to contribute to the progress of the nation,” said Yusuf.
