The Head Police of Indragiri Hilir, AKBP Dian Setyawan along with the ranks of land and forest fire prevention (Karlahut) cooled the burned land in Sekawan Village, Tempuling District, Sunday, February 21, 2021.
Apart from cooling down at Tempuling, the Joint Team also conducted blackouts at the Enok border and actively patrolled in the sub-district.
AKBP Dian Setyawan when leading the activity, said that the personnel in the activity consisted of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) Police, BPBD, the firefighters, and the Fire Care Community (MPA).
He explained that the burned land in Sekawan Village was a thicket that was flammable and dry conditions with a peat texture, with an area of about 5 hectares (Ha).
Meanwhile, the tools used for cooling are 6 units of water pump machines and other manual tools that can be used to extinguish and cool Karlahut.
“Apart from that, we appeal to the community to protect the land together and as quickly as possible provide information if there is a hotspot, install a police line, examine witnesses who know the source of the hotspots together with village officials and community leaders,” he said.
