Head of the Social Service (Dinsos), Indragiri Hilir (Inhil), Mr. HM Arifin visited the Elderly Pondok Bhakti Foundation, located on SKB street in Tembilahan on Thursday, March 4, 2021.
In addition to staying in touch, the arrival of the former Tembilahan sub-district head was also to see firsthand the conditions of the residence which was intended for the elderly who live alone.
The head of the Elderly Pondok Bhakti Foundation, Yuliana Daud, said that the foundation was formed because of the concern about parents that living alone without their family.
“Initially, we were concerned about the elderly who were neglected and lived alone, but it also happened that our younger brother Habibi owned a house and offered this house to be used,” said Yuliana.
She also added that currently, there are 4 elderly people being cared for by them, all of whom are Tembilahan residents who have been living alone.
Meanwhile, Mr. HM Arifin said that this activity was in accordance with the vision and mission of the Regent and Deputy Head of Indragiri Hilir, HM Wardan, and Syamsuddin Uti who emphasized caring and prioritizing to handling the social sector.
As for the facilities, said Arufin, who can help the Social Service such as administering BPJS and communicating with Baznas, however, he asked this foundation to prepare all the data needed, such as the ID card for the elderly and other conveniences.
“Let us support and pray, in the future this elderly cottage can stand more responsively so it can accommodate and nurture the elderly, so that poor elderly people who live alone can live properly as they should,” said Mr. HM Arifin.
