The Department of Trade and Industry (Disdagtri) of Indragiri Hilir (Inhil) Regency will move the traders of Selodang Kelapa Market, known as the Floating Market to the Temporary Shelters (TPS) on Jalan Yos Sudarso, Tembilahan.
This statement was conveyed directly by the Head of the Department of Trade and Industry of Indragiri Hilir, Dhoan Dwi Anggara in his office, Veteran street – Tembilahan.
“Our focus is to relocate the Floating Market traders to the Temporary Shelters. We will try to do this week,” he said.
To rebuild the Floating Market, Dhoan said, “We hope the traders follow the rules in an orderly manner. We do not prohibit people from earning a living,” he hoped.
The Head of Market, Ahmad Fitri added that the Temporary Shelters designation was built for fish, chicken, and beef trades.
The existence of the Floating Market is considered not suitable for use. Besides being hit by a fire, the market also collapsed in the middle of the building.
Therefore, the government built the Temporary Shelters as many as 4 blocks from 3 budget sources, namely :
- Block A from the Corporate Social Responsibility budget of Bank Riau,
- Block B from the Corporate Social Responsibility budget of PT Pulau Sambu Guntung,
- Block C and Block D from the Local government budget of Indragiri Hilir.
The development was 100 percent complete in 2020. Then in early 2021, the Department of Trade and Industry of Indragiri Hilir continued to collect data to be arranged in such away. The aim is none other than to provide comfort to traders and buyers.
“From our records, there are 235 traders who have a lease. They are the priority to be transferred to the Temporary Shelters,” he explained.
However, besides that, his party also did not rule out accepting other traders, provided that they were committed to trading a kind of fish and meat.
“Because there are some who are already functioning. That must be put in order unless they want to move to become fish or meat traders. We can accommodate them,” he concluded.
