The Indragiri Hilir Police Joint Team succeeded in securing the perpetrators of the persecution which resulted in Safar (28) was dying, and Sarbaini (21) got seriously injured on Saturday, March 13, 2021.
The two victims were residents of Tembilahan Hulu.
Safar was found by the residents on Baharuddin Yusuf street. Meanwhile, Sarbaini was found lying in Wahyu alley.
The perpetrator with the initials S (21) fled to Kijang Island, Reteh District until he was finally secured.
The chronology of the stabbing occurred when the perpetrator and the two victims and six other friends drank alcohol in front of a Wisma Parit 7 Tembilahan Hulu.
“In a drunken state, Safar suddenly stood up with a sharp weapon from his waist and made all his friends disperse,” said the Police Chief of Indragiri Hilir, AKBP Dian Setyawan.
Safar and Sarbaini, without any clear reason, arrested and strangled the perpetrator, and then the perpetrator fought back, resulting in a two-on-one fight.
“Feeling urged, the perpetrator took out a knife from his waist and attacked Safar and Sarbaini. As a result of the fight, Safar died and Sarbaini was injured and escaped,” he said.
After the fight, the perpetrator returned to his rented house and then fled to his parent’s house on Kijang Island, Reteh.
“In less than 24 hours, at 4:30 p.m. to be precise, the joint team from the Indragiri Hilir Police and Tembilahan Hulu succeeded in securing the perpetrator at his parents’ residence,” explained AKP Warno.
Currently, Sarbaini is at the Puri Husada Hospital Tembilahan.
