The Regent of Indragiri Hilir, HM Wardan signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) regarding the Integrated Itsbat Marriage Session with the Religious Court (PA) and the Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) at the Inauguration and Handover ceremony of the Chairperson of the TP PKK Sub-district throughout the Regency of Indragiri Hilir.
The memorandum of understanding marks the collaboration that has been established between the Indragiri Hilir Regency Government, the Religious Court, and the Ministry of Religion in an effort to provide services to the community in order to realize a happy family, protection of women and children.
“The integrated marriage service aims to help people legalize marriage, obtain marriage books and population documents such as birth certificates, family cards, and others,” said Zulaikhah after the signing of the MoU which was part of the inauguration procession of the Head of TP PKK Sub-district throughout Inhil Regency.
According to Zulaikhah, the rise of the marriage underhand phenomenon in the Indragiri Hilir Regency is the cause of the large number of families who do not have citizenship documents.
According to her, it will have an impact on the difficulty of providing assistance and services to the community concerned.
“At least, this program is expected to minimize married couples who do not have a marriage book. Especially at this time, the marriage book is very important, especially for the management of various administrative needs of the population,” explained Zulaikhah.
Zulaikhah explained, married couples who are legally married according to religion are married by the Religious Court. Then on the basis of the ruling of the Religious Court, then the Religious Affairs office registered the marriage and issued a Marriage Certificate in the form of a Marriage Book.
The signing of a memorandum of understanding in a series of activities for the inauguration of the Chairperson of the TP PKK Sub-district throughout the Indragiri Hilir Regency which was attended by the Regent of Indragiri Hilir Regency, HM Wardan, the Chairperson of the Religious Court, the Regional Secretary of Indragiri Hilir Regency, the Chairperson of the Women’s Organization, as well as a number of echelon officials within the Indragiri Hilir Regency Government.
