Wave breaker and lagoon, those two words immediately crossed when I heard the name Glagah Beach. Both seem to show two different sides of this black sand beach.
Hundreds of tetrapods lined the west side mercilessly breaking the notorious South Sea waves.
When the new moon and the beach waves roll in, we can see how the waves break and the foam rushes onto the land. Meanwhile, the quiet and wide lagoon nearby looks so friendly for young children who want to play in the water.
There are sightseeing boats neatly parked on the edge of the lagoon, as well as colorful duck boats waiting to be boarded.
For sports lovers, please bike along the beach, ride an ATV or conquer the sandy terrain by motocross. The calm lagoon is also great for rowing your canoe. If you are worried about letting your children play water on the beach, there is a small swimming pool for them to keep swimming safely.
In addition, Glagah Beach is also a paradise for anglers. Fishing with the technique of casting on a tetrapod is certainly an experience in itself. We can find several types of fish such as Surung, Caru (baby GT), Talang, Pethek (Mlawis), Garon, Layur and others.
When the sun is hot, enjoying fresh watermelons or melons that are sold on the road to the beach directly from local farmers is certainly very tempting.
Enjoy the fruit while sitting on a field shaded by prawn cypress trees along the edge of the lagoon.
When hunger comes, several stalls selling various processed fish around the beach can extinguish your hunger instantly.
After a long day of playing on the beach, don’t rush to leave. Wait until the sun returns to its bed. Sit down and face west on the side of the road near the breakwater line, enjoying the golden light that reflects perfectly off the sea surface and sneaks through the tetrapod gap. Listen to the crashing waves, see the sky getting orange and feel the lagoon getting calmer. They will end the day so sweetly and romantically.
