The Indragiri Hilir Regency Government has scheduled a Covid-19 vaccination for the general public who are elderly (elderly).
Citizens aged 60 years and over who are registered as residents of Indragiri Hilir Regency will be injected with the first dose of the CoronaVac vaccine on March 22, 2021.
Head of the Indragiri Hilir Health Service, Dr. Afrizal Darmawan, through the Head of Disease Prevention and Control (P2P) Subowo Radiyanto explained that the vaccination for the elderly is planned to be coordinated by each community health center.
“Vaccination for the elderly has been conceptualized, and it will start on March 22, 2021,” said Subowo.
This vaccination schedule is good news for the elderly in Indragiri Hilir who were not previously included in the target of the Covid-19 vaccination.
“Prior to vaccination, officers will screen them whether vaccinations can be carried out or postponed or even canceled, and it is said to be canceled due to several reasons, one of which is if it is not in accordance with the recommendations of the Indonesian Association of Internal Medicine Specialists (PAPDI),” he said.
Currently, registration for covid-19 vaccination participants for elderly residents throughout the Indragiri Hilir region has been opened.
The target audience is approximately 73 thousand people.
“Puskesmas already have a list of the elderly, but if anyone still wants to register, there is no problem, please register at the nearest Puskesmas, more is better,” said Subowo.
Since the target is tens of thousands of elderly residents, vaccination will be carried out in stages.
“It will be done in stages according to the supply of vaccines,” he said.
