According to him, Porang has a promising economic value.
Alfedri invites the community to use unproductive land or yard for the planting of Porang.
“Porang can be planted intercropping, we do not have to plant acres, which of course requires a large enough capital. However, it is enough to start by planting it in the yard, like what we are harvesting now, ”he said.
He hopes that the related offices and the sub-district head can convey to the community that Porang plant is very promising and can improve the community’s economy.
“I asked the Porang plant to be one of the superior products from the village. One village has one product, now we ask Porang for the product, ”he said.
According to the plan, a Porang factory will be built in Tualang, Bunut Village, with the hope that this factory will be able to accommodate the crops of Porang farmers at a friendly price.
Meanwhile, the chairman of DPC (Branch Leadership Council) P3N (Farmers Activating Porang Nusantara, Siak Regency), Jonter Timba Sinaga said that this time the Porang harvest was the first in Siak district.
“This is the starting point, this Porang community develops in Siak district. With the presence of the Regent, Alfedri, we really hope for the support of the Siak Regency Government, so that the Porang cultivation program can be attracted by the community and be able to support the residents’ economy, “he said.
He explained that the distribution of Porang farmers who have been running in Kandis sub-district is 21 thousand sticks, Tualang 21 thousand sticks, Mempura 5 thousand sticks, Siak 21 thousand, Koto Gasib there are 15 thousand sticks.
“We continue to form other sub-district administrators, with the hope that more and more people can plant Porang. As well as being able to meet the raw materials needed by the Porang factory to be built in Tualang, which is targeted to start operating in June, “he concluded. (Adv)
