In order to commemorate the 102nd anniversary of the firefighters, the Indragiri Hilir Fire and Rescue Service held various activities, on Monday, March 29, 2021.
The event was decorated with various kinds of arts including regional dances, theater arts, and fashion shows.
The event was held with the theme of firefighting and rescue that is professional, independent, and serves in supporting the adaptation of new habits.
The Regent of Indragiri Hilir HM Wardan, who was present at the event, said that based on Law Number 23 of 2014 concerning Regional Government, fire is one of the mandatory affairs related to basic services in the areas of peace, public order, and protection of the community
“However, as we know, in Indragiri Hilir there are frequent fires, especially in Tembilahan City. Some time ago, some of them even claimed lives. This is of course very concerning and concern for all of us. Therefore, prevention and control. fires must be carried out better, and this is not only the duty of the Fire Brigade but also our duty and responsibility, “explained the Regent.
According to him, one of the efforts that can be done to minimize the occurrence of fires in Indragiri Hilir is to form a Fire Brigade Volunteer Unit (SATREDKAR) in every District in Indragiri Hilir Regency.
