The Regent of Indragiri Hilir Regency, HM Wardan, directly supervised the implementation of social sanctions in the form of cleaning the Covid-19 funeral by violators of health protocol, Tuesday, May 4, 2021.
At least 57 residents were caught in the first operation to tighten upholding the discipline of health protocols held by the Covid-19 Task Force in Indragiri Hilir Regency.
As many as 57 people who violated the health protocol who did not wear masks were also given social sanctions in the form of cleaning the funeral for Covid-19 patients in Sungai Beringin Village, Tembilahan.
As many as 57 residents who came from various professions were caught in the raids at 2 different points, namely Jalan Sudirman, Tembilahan, and the morning market area.
All health protocol violators were brought in by several patrol cars to the burial site.
Before cleaning the cemetery, offenders are required to undergo an Antigen Swab test that has been provided at the entrance to the burial site.
“We have informed us that we will bring them here, clean the graves together,” said the Regent who is also the Head of the Indragiri Hilir Regency Covid-19 Task Force while overseeing the implementation of social sanctions for cleaning the special covid-19 cemetery by violators of health protocols. .
The Regent emphasized that if the violators currently commit the same violation based on the data they have, they will be subject to imprisonment sanctions.
For this reason, the Regent hopes that there will be awareness by the community of the importance of health protocols, such as wearing masks, maintaining distance, washing hands with soap, avoiding crowds and reducing mobility outside the home.
“The public should not only be afraid of sanctions. But, they truly realize that health protocols are very important. It is all to protect ourselves from exposure to Covid-19, and even protect our environment,” explained the Regent.
In addition, the Regent hopes that Indragiri Hilir Regency, which is currently in the orange zone category for the spread of covid-19, can at least shift to a yellow zone ahead of the Idul Fitri 1442 Hijriyah celebration after going through the operation of tightening the discipline enforcement of the covid-19 health protocol.
“Hopefully we can be in the green zone so that we can celebrate Eid al-Fitr, hold Eid prayers, both at the mosque and in the field as before,” concluded the Regent.
