The Regent of Indragiri Hilir Regency (Inhil), HM Wardan, recommends implementing health protocols when carrying out iftar activities together (Bukber) during the month of Ramadan. This is intended to anticipate the emergence of a new Covid-19 cluster in Indragiri Hilir Regency.
In recent times, the increase in the graph of covid-19 cases in Indragiri Hilir Regency has been quite significant.
In just these 2 days, on April 30 and May 1, there have been an additional 31 positive confirmed cases of Covid-19.
Although it is not yet certain, the Break Together cluster becomes a potential at the moment of Ramadan as a contributor to the recent increase in the Covid-19 number.
According to the Regent, the Indragiri Hilir Regency Covid-19 Control Task Force has forwarded the Circular (SE) of the Minister of Religion Number 4 of 2021 concerning Amendments to SE Number 3 of 2021 concerning Guidelines for Worship at Ramadan and Eid Al Fitr 1422 Hijriah which contains provisions regarding breaking the fast together during Ramadan 2021.
“We recommend that the public continue to adhere to this circular in carrying out iftar activities together,” said the Regent during the Large-scale Justice Operation for Health Protocol Discipline Enforcement, Saturday night, on May 1, 2021.
The Regent did not rule out the implementation of breaking the fast together.
However, he emphasized enforcing the discipline of implementing health protocols for residents in carrying out this joint breaking of the fast.
“Maybe there are those who break they’re fast together. However, they must implement the health protocol in a disciplined manner,” said the Regent.
As a result of the drastic increase in covid-19 cases in Indragiri Hilir Regency entering the third week of Ramadan, the Covid-19 Task Force in Indragiri Hilir Regency also held a Large-Scale Justice Operation to enforce the discipline of health protocols to control the number of Covid-19 cases.
The Covid-19 Task Force fielded a joint team from the TNI, Polri, Civil Service Police Unit and a number of other related agencies to comb a number of crowded places, such as cafes, culinary centers to game centers.
From the results of the sweeping, it was found that these places had implemented health protocols, such as the use of masks and the provision of a place to wash hands.
However, there are still health protocol disciplines that have not been implemented, such as maintaining distance.
