After April 2021, the cooperation which was stated in the signing of the MoU with Lancang Kuning University in order to improve regional human resources, now the Siak Regency Government is again trying to collaborate with Riau State University.
In this effort, the Regent of Siak Alfedri, accompanied by Assistant I of the Regional Secretariat for Siak Budhi Yuwono and the Secretary of the Mahadar Education Office, held a meeting with the Rector of Riau State University Prof. Aras Mulyadi.
The meeting discussed the cooperation of the two parties in the form of superior scholarships for the Siak community, especially the underprivileged and village government officials in the work room of the Rector of Riau State University.
Alfedri conveyed several important things related to the policies he took to realize one of the visions and missions of Siak Regency, namely improving Human Resources.
“This program is for the poor in order to obtain undergraduate education through superior scholarships. For that we really hope the Chancellor is willing to help realize this program,” hoped Alfedri.
His party has made preparations such as data collection in 7 of the 14 existing Districts, and we will continue to map all the Districts.
Responding to the wish of the number one person in Siak, the Chancellor of Riau State University, Aras Mulyadi expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the Siak Regency Government for entrusting its campus as one of the places for Siak Regency people to pursue undergraduate education through a superior scholarship program.
“First of all I thank you for the presence of the Regent and his ranks, especially our appreciation to the Regent who has entrusted us to be one of the leading program partners of the Siak Regency Government,” he said.
He then said that basically his party is very supportive of the Siak Regency Government program to improve the human resources of its people.
Therefore, it is necessary to discuss further regarding the number of quotas and the various study programs chosen.
“Basically, we strongly agree with Mr. Alfedri’s great ideas and ideas to ensure that all people receive higher education. For that we need to discuss further regarding the number of quotas and the choice of the desired study program. In essence, we warmly welcome Mr. Alfedri’s wishes, “said Aras to Alfedri.
Before separating, on that occasion the Regent Alfedri handed over a souvenir to the Rector of UNRI and vice versa.
After the meeting, Siak District Assistant I Regional Secretary Budhi Yuwono added, there are 4 departments in UNRI. Namely majoring in Accounting, Civil Engineering, Medicine, and English Literature.
“The medical quota is limited, but thank God, there is still a quota for Siak children,” he said.
