The City Government of Bandung, West Java, will reopen tourist attractions starting June 2. Tourist attractions were previously closed since May 23, 2021, by the COVID-19 Handling Task Force for causing crowds.
“For tourist attractions, they will reopen because the Eid period is over,” said Bandung Mayor Oded M Danial at Bandung City Hall, quoted by Antara, Monday, May 31.
Even though it is reopening, according to him, the COVID-19 Handling Task Force will continue to carry out strict supervision to maintain the potential for crowds of visitors.
“To maintain the public’s euphoria, we will continue to maintain health protocols in the field, we will strengthen our surveillance,” said Oded.
Meanwhile, the Regional Secretary for the City of Bandung, Ema Sumarna, said the number of COVID-19 cases in the city of Bandung was still under control after Eid, despite an increase in the number of symptomatic patients in hospitals.
“The positivity rate is under control at 7.36, we were at 11. So now it is still under control, the only thing to note is that people being treated are now 66 percent (occupancy rate of isolation rooms),” he said.
There are also tourist attractions that will reopen after being closed, namely the Bandung Zoo, Karang Setra Water Land, Saung Angklung Udjo, Traffic Park, Trans Studio Bandung, and Kiara Artha Park.
