As a Regional Archives Institute (LKD), the Siak Regency Library Service continues to strive to maintain orderly archives both within the scope of archive creators and managers, and archive users in Siak Regency local government agencies, as well as archive order in LKD itself.
This was marked by the implementation of Technical Guidance for Supervision of Dynamic Archives of Regency/City Authorities and the dissemination of the Circular Letter of Menpan-RB No. 01 of 2020 concerning the Rescue and Preservation of State Archives for the 2014-2019 Period in the Meeting Room of Raja Indra Pahlawan, 2nd Floor, Siak Regent’s Office.
The activity was opened by the Regent of Siak through the Assistant for Administration and General Affairs of the Siak Regency Regional Secretariat, Jamaluddin.
“Archives are a source of reference for organizations, the existence of archives in an organization is the backbone of the organization’s management. For that we must preserve the archives”, said Jamaluddin in his speech.
According to him, saving archives must be done as a form of performance accountability and proof of accountability for the implementation of programs and activities.
“Saving these archives is important, as a form of accountability for performance and accountability for the implementation of regional development programs. Saving archives is also a collective identity and memory of the nation”, he explained.
He hopes that, through the implementation of the Technical Guidance, archival supervision can run well, so that the quality and safety of archives is maintained as a support for regional policies.
“I hope that through Technical Guidance on archiving supervision and socialization of the Menpan-RB Circular No. 01 of 2020, the supervision of archives can run well so that the quality and safety of our archives can be maintained. This of course plays an important role in supporting the development program. We love this area of Siak Regency,” he hoped.
Jamaluddin then advised all the participants of the Technical Guidance to take the activity seriously, because according to him, the participants of the Technical Guidance were the backbone of the organization.
Previously, the Head of the Siak Regency Library Service, Muhammad Arifin when delivering his report said that the implementation of the Bimtek was his commitment to continue to maintain orderly archives as an integral part of every program and activity carried out.
“Supervision instruments are a new way of fostering archive management, for this reason, this Technical Guidance activity is carried out. This activity is very important for archive management because archives are the most important part of every program and activity carried out,” said Arifin.
This activity was also attended by the Head of Regional Apparatus Organizations within the Siak Regency Government and was attended by representatives from each OPD.
