Mrs. Her claiming that she hadn’t seen her ex, who still lived on the same street as her, since July 1.
Then Mrs. Her’s 17-year-old daughter told police that she believed her mother had killed her stepfather.
The teenager also told police that Mrs. Her had built a new shed in the backyard over what she had previously identified as a large hole with a tarp over it.
The body was eventually discovered by cadaver dogs, who sniffed it out under the shed after a neighbor called police to report a bad smell coming from the backyard.
But Mrs. Her claimed that the hole was from where she had removed a tree stump, that the smell was from pigeons in her coop and that the discarded bag in Taylor Falls was food.
But police found blood in Mrs. Her’s garage and laundry room, as well as on a bedroom wall that had recently been painted.
Police said that Mr. Yang was wrapped inside the hole, with two gunshot wounds to the back of his head.
