I recently got my first Tesla. This is a model Y. It is environmentally friendly. Gas is not used. In fact, this particular model also does not use electricity. It works as hard as the leg, which can make a long ride very tiring. Other than that, it’s way too short for me. In fact, it is so compact that I lock it in the living room every night.
Good good. I did not get Tesla. But my children – 5 and 1 – did. This is the new My First Model Y from the American classic game company Radio Flyer. The car is part of a new line of children’s toys that the company has partnered with Tesla.
As the resident parent of the Mashable Tech team, I reinforced this when I showed a pre-release sample to try.
First of all, the children love him. This is just a big red car, big enough for the hood as the seat is a children’s ride. There is a prominent steering wheel and it is easy for both children to bend. The trumpet actually makes a sound, and the kids clearly love it.
I am not a person with a big car, so I had to look for a picture of a red Tesla Model Y to see if it had found a similar photo, a red car with the Tesla logo on it. You look so close to me
The car body is quite well built. It has some signs of friction from five-year-olds wearing soccer balls outside the hood and hitting them in other toys, but no cracks, and nothing broken. The radio flyer is known for its strong red carriages and three wheels, so the quality is no surprise.
The box states that it is designed for children 2-4, which looks accurate. My one-year-old daughter enjoys sitting on it and pretending to drive, but her feet don’t hit the ground. On the other hand, my 5-year-old son seems too old for him, but he is still working with her.
My father’s criticism was that it was strange that the seat was embedded in the hood. But the radio flyer seems to be selling a more realistic battery-powered toy, the Tesla, that children already sit at five times the price. It is only $ 99.
Also, some assembly was required out of the box … it could hardly be fun from a father’s point of view!
But my review doesn’t really matter. The most important criticism is of my 5-year-old son and he said an excellent thing: the hood and / or trunk of the car should be opened! No. This is just a little Tesla prototype. Since radio flyers are known for their iconic red carriages, you would think that they could have added a small storage compartment in the hood to keep their toys for children. May be they consult my son in future.
In my view, My First Model Y does not exclude other radio flyer products. But, if your child really wants a car, especially Tesla, I doubt you’ll find a cheaper alternative.
Since acquiring my first Model Y, my son has suddenly become fully aware of cars with the Tesla logo, something he had not seen before. So the full partnership with Radio Flyer is really smart on Tesla’s part, by the way. For example, Elon Musk … is a better idea than tweeting on Tesla or Coronavirus.
