A hunter had been mauled by a grizzly bear at a national park in Alaska until died over the weekend.
As cited by News24xx.com from the National Park Service on Tuesday, the hunter was on a 10-day moose hunt with a friend at Wrangell-St. Elias National Park and Preserve. Then, suddenly the bear attacked him.
The name of the hunter has not been public. And no other details about the attack were released.
The death of the hunter is the first fatal mauling at Wrangell-St. Elias National Park and Preserve since the park was established 40 years ago in 1980. Because the management of the park urged the visitors to take precautions by carrying bear spray and using Bear Resistant Food Containers.
According to the NPS, the Wrangell-St. Elias National Park and Preserve is the country’s largest and is the same size as Yellowstone National Park with 13.2 million-acre.
