A man in Gianyar regency have been arrested in a revenge porn case.
At that time, the 20-year-old suspect, identified by initials KM, was charged with violation of articles from the Information and Electronic Transactions Act (UU ITE), the anti-pornography law, and the child protection law.
KM demanded IDR10 million from a victim and threatened to spread their intimate videos online if she refused.
From the information of the Bali Police, KM and his victim had been in a relationship when the latter was still underage.
Known that KM was reportedly jealous after finding out that the victim was in a relationship with another man.
And when the victim refused to give him money, KM allegedly hacked into the victim’s Facebook account and uploaded a number of sexually explicit screenshots from their private videos, which went viral.
As a result, he is facing a maximum of 15 years in prison, after the victim filed a police report soon.
In earlier this week, police seized his phone and laptop, which contained intimate photos and videos recorded back in 2018,
Yuliar Kus Nugroho, the Heads of the Special Crimes Investigation Unit at Bali Police, said, “The victim was lured by promises to pay her school fees. Because of that the victim agreed to have sex and be filmed.”
