Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador said that he had tested positive for COVID-19.
This was conveyed by the President directly.
The president experienced mild symptoms of COVID-19 and is currently undergoing medical treatment, he admitted.
Mexico is facing a second wave of the pandemic, with total COVID-19 deaths in the country set to hit a dark milestone of 150,000 deaths estimated in a few days.
“As usual, I am optimistic (the situation will improve),” wrote the 67-year-old president.
