A man with the initials E (35), the perpetrator of a criminal act of persecution that resulted in the death of the victim, was arrested by the Concong Police.
The victim’s initials AL (14) is the son of his wife’s brother. The victim was stabbed in the lower right armpit.
The stabbing incident occurred on Friday, April 2, 2021, at the victim’s house, Jalan Support II RT 001 / RW 002, Panglima Raja Village.
According to the Indragiri Hilir Police Chief, AKBP Dian Setyawan through Public Relations Officer, Ipda Esra, the stabbing incident began when the perpetrator was scolded by his wife who was outside the area.
Not accepting the scolded by his wife, the perpetrator finally went to his father-in-law, S (55) who lived with the victim, and the victim’s father D (35).
“The perpetrator came and knocked on the door of the house, after being opened by D, the perpetrator immediately pushed D while pointing at D’s in-law who was none other than the perpetrator’s in-laws as well. Seeing the perpetrator carrying a knife, D tried to catch him, but the perpetrator was more robust and large than D was unable to. arrest the perpetrators, “said Esra.
The perpetrator felt hurt and accused his in-laws of reporting bad things to his wife.
“Pointing to his father-in-law, the perpetrator said ‘why can’t you teach your child’,” he explained while imitating the perpetrator’s words.
Esra continued, after being released from D’s grip, at the same time the victim who was sleeping woke up and was about to run out of the house.
“Seeing this, the perpetrator immediately stabbed the victim.
The victim’s neighbors who heard of the commotion left the house and chased the perpetrator.
The perpetrators were secured by the Head of the RT. 001 RW. 002 Panglima Raja Village and handed over to members of the Concong Police for safekeeping at Concong Police Headquarters.
“Due to the unfavorable situation and conditions, the perpetrators were immediately brought to Indragiri Hilir Police Headquarters for investigation,” explained Esra.
As a result of the stabbing, the victim suffered a torn wound that extended under the right armpit to a depth of 10 centimeters and tore the victim’s lungs. The victim died on the way to the hospital.
“The perpetrator is subject to Article 351 paragraph 3 of the Criminal Code,” he said.
