To prevent stunting and malnutrition, the Siak Regency Family Welfare Empowerment Team (PKK), in collaboration with the Joint Operations Agency (BOB) of Bumi Siak Pusako (BSP) Pertamina Hulu distributes PMT (Supplementary Feeding) assistance for Infants Under Five Years (Toddler) and Infants Under Three Years (Toddler).
The assistance was handed over by Mrs. Hj. Rasidah Alfedri as the Chairperson of the Empower Siak Family Welfare to parents of toddlers at the Flamboyan Integrated Service Post (Posyandu), Sabak Permai Village, Sabak Auh District, Siak.
“This additional food aid is for toddlers because they are the nation’s next-generation, so nutritional intake must be balanced to avoid stunting,” said Rasidah.
Sabak Permai is one of the stunting loci from 15 villages in the Siak Regency. The number of stunting sufferers in Sabak Auh is 26 children.
On that occasion, Rasidah expressed her gratitude to the Joint Operations Agency of BSP Company for the assistance provided, considering that the organization he leads does not have a budget.
“The solution to the stunting problem cannot be carried out in a short time, therefore it is necessary to make a joint commitment from all parties so that the handling is carried out continuously and sustainably,” she added.
She explained that for this Flamboyan Posyandu the assistance provided was 47 packages for toddlers and 21 packages for toddlers, consisting of 400 grams of powdered milk, green beans, sugar, and biscuits.
“Hopefully it can be useful for all of us. So that pregnant women can always be healthy and the children here become strong, healthy, and intelligent children,” she hoped.
Team Manager of BSP Pertamina Hulu, Rio Sandi, said the Joint Operations Agency is always ready to help in preventing stunting, which has become a national issue.
Several aids have been distributed, including the provision of medical equipment at the Melur Posyandu in Dosan Village, then the renovation of Posyandu at Dayun Village.
“Hopefully this assistance can be useful for the community in our operational area,” he said.
Furthermore, Rasidah and Mrs. Ananda Laila Putri Husni Merza, saw the activities at the Flamboyan Posyandu.
