The father, Zaini, died after being sick for several days from a snake bite.
In several photos circulating on social media, Zaini is seen lying sick, surrounded by his wife and his children.
In the photo, you can see the Zaini’s simple hut, with a plank floor with a roof of palm leaves.
After the photo went viral, many netizens finally sympathized and provided assistance.
Zaini’s brother-in-law, Husni, who by telephone, on Friday, November 20, 2020, said that Zaini was riding on someone’s land to build a hut.
The house, which is made of wood and has a roof of nipah leaves, and was built together by local residents and shared a ride on the residents’ land.
“Zaini passed away a few days ago. He was sick because he was bitten by a snake while going out to sea,” said Husni.
The lower part of the cottage house that uses poles, will be submerged at high tide. Then it was very difficult to find clean water. Of course, this is also a risk of causing various diseases, especially in young children.
He said, as a result of being bitten by a snake, Zaini lay sick at home for several days. However, his wife did not dare to take Zaini to the hospital because she had no money.
“Initially he was bitten by a snake, since then he began to feel unwell and weak until he died,” he explained.
Husni said Zaini left four small children.
He said that since the photo of Zaini and her house went viral, a lot of help came from various parties. They even come from Sulawesi, Java, Padang, and even from neighboring countries, Australia.
