Road maintenance work for the Selensen-Kota Baru-Bagan Jaya road section in Kuala Keritang Village has started on Friday, January 29, 2021.
Dani M Nursalam as Deputy Chairperson of Commission IV, DPRD Riau Province said that the maintenance work for the road segment is functional.
According to Dani, the construction in the form of maintenance on the Selensen-Kota Baru-Bagan Jaya road section located in Kuala Keritang Village is intended so that these roads can function optimally.
Maintenance activities are designated for damaged roads so that they can support the mobility of local residents.
“The condition of the road at the location of this road construction, Kuala Keritang Village is of concern. Especially with the high rainfall. This condition is very disturbing to the mobility of residents. Therefore, maintenance is carried out so that the road functions properly,” said Dani.
The former Chairman of DPRD Indragiri Hilir added that the implementation of the road section maintenance work was the task of the Regional IV (Four) PUPR – PKPP Department of Riau Province, previously scheduled for last Tuesday. However, due to weather constraints, work implementation was delayed.
“Last Tuesday, the equipment was actually at the location. The conditions were raining, it could not start. Only today can it start,” he said.
He said the road construction in the Kuala Keritang village location was not a road improvement or reconstruction work with the rigid, hot mix or landfilling work.
“If the road improvement is under the authority of the Public Works Department of Riau’s Highways. Maintenance, such as the one in Kuala Keritang Village, is handled by UPT Region IV (four) PUPR Riau Office with the scope of Inhil and Inhu Regencies,” said Dani.
Dani hopes that the road maintenance work is carried out as well as possible so that it can get maximum results.
“Poor people. It is not easy for us to get this development. If the results are maximum, the community will be helped and can feel the benefits,” he said.
