Abdulkadir Masharipov carried out an armed attack on the exclusive nightclub, Reina, just minutes after the 2017 New Year.

The group calling itself the Islamic State or ISIS said it was responsible for the attack.
Masharipov was sentenced to life in prison for “deliberate murder” and “violating the constitution”, reports the Turkish news agency Anadolu.
He also received an additional sentence of 1,368 years for attempted murder of the 79 people who were injured in the attack and for carrying weapons without a license.
CCTV footage shows the alleged perpetrator of the attack firing bullets at visitors to Reina’s nightclub.
The police in Turkey have carried out numerous raids against members of the ISIS group in recent times.
In July, 27 people suspected of planning attacks in Istanbul were arrested in the city.
And last week, the government said the top ISIS commander in the country had been arrested.
