The Regent of Siak Alfedri mentioned the benefits for parents who introduce and teach their children to memorize and learn the Qur’an.
“If our children have memorized about the Qur’an, they will be one of the people who wear the crown for their parents in heaven”.
It was conveyed by Alfedri while attending the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of Tahfidz Qur’an Al Qudsy’s building in Dayun village, Dayun sub-district, Siak.
He also conveyed the enthusiasm of the parent to send their children to Islamic boarding schools, including the Tahfidz Islamic boarding schools in all sub-districts in the Siak district.
“Nowadays, there are 37 Islamic boarding schools in Siak district, and most of them do not have enough classrooms or dormitories for new students, ”he said.
Further, he said that he had committed to creating a scholarship program in higher education for hafiz or hafidzah.
Then, he wants to makes the scholarship program for fortunate children. But, the government of Siak will evaluate the regional superior scholarship programs in a number of universities on the island of Java.
“We will re-evaluate the regional superior scholarship program before the program is limited only to 50 people for a year, but, in the future, we will be added to more than 100 but for underprivileged children,” he explained.
The Regent hopes that more future generations in Siak will love the Qur’an. So, Siak will be led by a regent who knows about the Qur’an.
As we know, the Tahfidz Islamic boarding school was initiated by Ustadz Muhammad Yunus. At that time, the number of students from that boarding school is only two people and they were staying at the mosque complex.
With an initial capital of IDR 60 million, the management intends to build a two-floor building for the students. So far, the students are free of charge and for students who have memorized 16 juz of the Qur’an and participated in the scholarship program from the Baznas Siak district, they also free.
